“We cannot settle for seventh place”

A highly motivated Binder returns from time at home in South Africa ready to move up the order.

Seventh place in Germany may have been a good result for many riders, but not for Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) who believes he and the team should be further ahead. Time away from racing back home in South Africa has given the KTM rider time to relax and refocus, setting his sights firmly on the top five and higher in the coming rounds. KTM held a private test during the off season which should bring improvements to all the KTM riders from Indy onwards.

Indianapolis is a special track for Binder who made his World Championship debut at the American track back in 2011. His best result at the circuit came in 2014 when he secured ninth, he has otherwise failed to finish in the points at the Brickyard. In 2015 Binder has secured just one podium, a third at Jerez, and is aiming for more.

Brad Binder: “After three weeks without racing we arrive at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a track that I think will perfectly suit our bike, being faster and more flowing. I think this is what we need to take a step forward. I feel good, I have spent some days off in South Africa, training hard to get to this weekend more prepared than ever. We cannot settle for the seventh place in Germany, because we know we can do better and move up. It is a track that I like and that brings me good memories because I raced my first GP here. I hope to get a good result
